We’re catching our Spartans doing AMAZING things on campus!

Our Valor Spartans are students who are recognized for making positive choices, showing kindness, helping others, demonstrating leadership, or simply doing something that makes Cedar a better place.

Each student recognized gets a ticket entered into our weekly Valor drawing! Each week, our administrators pull a few lucky tickets, and those students receive a special prize and a Valor Spartans certificate!

You never know when someone might notice you doing something great!

Learning Beyond the Kitchen!

Our Culinary students are learning to look at food service through a professional lens! Yesterday, students practiced identifying common restaurant violations in a variety of settings and discussing how these issues can impact food safety, customers, and the overall dining experience.

These hands-on lessons are helping our students build the knowledge and skills they’ll need for success in the culinary and hospitality industry!

Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up Safety Reminder

Spartan Families, we need your help keeping our students safe!

We have seen an increase in families dropping students off at the front of the school, which creates additional traffic and interferes with our school buses entering the bus circle. We are also seeing students crossing the street through traffic, which is extremely dangerous.

For everyone’s safety, please use the designated student drop-off and pick-up area in the back of the school and remind your student to use the designated crosswalks.

We understand mornings and afternoons can be busy, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation. Following the designated traffic pattern helps our buses move safely, reduces congestion, and most importantly, keeps our Spartans safe.

Important Attendance Reminder

Families, please remember that TalkingPoints is not an acceptable method for excusing student absences.

To excuse an absence, please use one of the following methods:

📞 Call the school to report the absence
📧 Email Amanda Fernandez directly (amanda.fernandez@hesperiausd.org)
📝 Provide a doctor’s note when your student returns to school

Please excuse your student’s absence as soon as possible so we can keep our attendance records accurate and up to date.

Please sign and return both forms to your student's 1st period teacher by Monday, 8/10.
