Hello Spartan Families!

We will be starting up our Title I Committee for this school year at the start of January. The purpose of this committee is to discuss and analyze various forms of data, and any conclusions from these discussions are utilized when making decisions about Title I expenditures. Ideally the committee will consist of members from every group of stakeholders: support staff, teachers, administrators, counselors, parents and students. We will meet two to three times in total, for about an hour at a time throughout the third quarter and the meetings are tentatively scheduled from 3:30-4:30 PM on January 13th & February 10th at CMS. If there is a need for a third meeting, it will be on February 24th. If you are interested in being a part of this committee, please use the link below and complete the form by Friday, December 12th, and we will be in contact soon to provide you with more information about each upcoming meeting. Thank you!

Mrs. Allsman’s ELD classes have been busy learning, sharing, and celebrating culture!
Students explored the important role food plays in cultural identity, created presentations, and wrapped up the unit with a delicious potluck. Each student brought a dish connected to their own culture so classmates could experience new flavors and traditions.

What an amazing way to practice English skills while appreciating and learning about one another’s cultures!
We love seeing our students grow, connect, and celebrate together.

Our annual canned food drive was a huge success! Thanks to the generosity of our Jr. Interact Club, our amazing Cedar families, and the frozen turkey donations from our local VFW Post, we were able to provide 13 Cedar families with everything they needed for a wonderful Thanksgiving feast.

Only a few days left!!

Let’s come together to support our Cedar families this season! Bring in non-perishable food items to your 1st period class — the class with the most donations wins a prize!

Honoring Our Heroes Through Words

Mrs. Allsman’s 7th grade Language Arts students have been learning the power of gratitude and reflection by writing heartfelt letters to our Veterans. This special project reminds students that the opportunities they have today exist because of the courage and sacrifices of those who served.

We’re so proud of our students, Javier Flores and Isabella Delgado, whose touching letters were selected to be read at the City of Hesperia Veterans Day Ceremony at Hesperia Lakes. What an incredible honor to represent our school and share their words of appreciation with our community!

Veterans Day
Eleven students from Mrs. Allsman’s class had an amazing opportunity to visit El Dorado Broadcasters for a behind-the-scenes tour — and to record their Veterans Day letters to be aired on local radio stations!

A huge THANK YOU to El Dorado Broadcasters for hosting our students and to The Fence Guys for sponsoring the airtime that allows their heartfelt messages to reach our community.
