San Bernardino County COVID Data: Source: NY Times, SB County Dashboard Past infection and vaccination rates: Per the County’s new vaccination dashboard over 155,000 people have received at least the first dose of the vaccine. Per the County’s COVID dashboard roughly 283,000 people have been infected with COVID since the beginning of the pandemic. This means, at most, 438,000 out of the 2,200,000 (roughly 20%) of San Bernardino County residents could have some sort of immunity to the virus at this point. That number increases everyday because of increased vaccinations. Source: SB County Vaccine Dashboard, SB County COVID Dashboard County 5-days of 25 or less...soooooo close! Per the County Department of Public Health we are below the 25 new cases per 100,000 residents right now. But we have not put together the string of 5 consecutive days yet. The data trends make me VERY optimistic about putting 5 consecutive days together by this weekend. But as I keep saying, math is a poor predictor of the future so I’ll patiently wait to see what happens. Source: SB County Dashboard HUSD COVID19 Vaccine Data: There are 572 HUSD staff members (including charter schools, certificated subs, classified subs, bus drivers and walk-on coaches) who remain on the list of staff members interested in vaccinating with the district. 780 HUSD staff members have been confirmed as vaccinated. 173 HUSD staff members who originally stated they wished to vaccinate with HUSD later declined vaccination. 95 HUSD staff members were offered vaccination appointments and asked to reschedule to a later date. Everyone who wishes to vaccinate with HUSD will be offered an appointment asap. Please be patient as we work with the County to secure more vaccine doses and offer them to staff in accordance with their prioritization requirements. County 5-days of 25 or less: Everyone keeps asking me if we are close to the 5 consecutive days of 25 or fewer new cases per 100,000 in the County. Unfortunately it's impossible to tell. That’s because recent data from the County changes daily due to late reporting. So today the totals for 2/6/21 may say one thing and it will be something different tomorrow. From the County data (which changes mind you) the average from 1/29/21-2/6/21 is 23.75 new cases per 100,000 per day. But on 2/1/21 there were 39.1 new cases per 100,000 reported which would reset our 5-consecutive days. Long story short, we are close, but it is impossible to tell how close until the County and/or State starts reporting 5-consecutive day data specifically. Source: SB County Dashboard HUSD COVID 19 Vaccine Clinic: HUSD and other districts have teamed with St. Mary’s to open a COVID19 Vaccine clinic in Apple Valley. The clinic has had and will continue to have school district only days/times. But it will also open to the public (for those who qualify per the County) soon. You can learn more about the clinic if you Click Here. If your family member currently qualifies for the vaccine per the County rules you can sign up for an appointment if you Click Here. HUSD COVID19 Vaccine Data: Our district is amazing! The entire district united and helped run our vaccination clinic this week. Classified, certificated, administration...it was a 100% team effort! I’m proud to work for HUSD! Because of the team effort HUSD was able to vaccinate 616 people! There are currently 739 staff members still on the list to get vaccinated. This list includes HUSD staff, bus drivers, certificated and classified subs, walk-on coaches and HUSD charter school staff. The list grows everyday as staff who have not yet completed the survey can complete it at any time. 106 people who were offered vaccine appointments declined and asked to not reschedule and 73 asked to reschedule. That means that HUSD has offered the vaccine to 795 of the 1,460 people who originally said they were interested in vaccinating with the district. This is 54.4%. Once the County gives us more doses we will eagerly roll them out to staff! I have been inundated with questions so I put together a Q&A document to help answer frequently asked questions. Please take a look at it and feel free to pass the info onto your staff. Please help to answer as many site questions as you can so I can focus my time on organizing future appointments as much as possible. Good evening parents, starting February 4, 2021, your child will be taking their iReady math assessment in their math classes via Zoom. Please remind your child to be on time, find a quiet place to work, and try their best on the assessment. We also ask the students not to ask for help on the assessment so we can get an accurate level at which they are reading and can better support them in the classroom.

Buenas noches familias Cedar.
